Risk control measures

  • Use crawl boards across ceiling joists
  • Identify and mark all existing services before work
  • Wear long sleeves and gloves in roof space
  • Wear P2 mask when disturbing insulation
  • Take breaks and hydrate in hot roof spaces
  • Use headlamp for visibility in dark spaces
  • Use of harnesses and fall arrest systems
  • Installation of guardrails and safety nets
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Setting up exclusion zones below work areas
